ACCEPTANCE

ACCEPTANCE   The word literally means the act of being accepted. The word alone means so much that it does not need any other words to support it. Acceptance is a very important quality. If you are ready to accept people for who they are, then you probably are a very rare person. Acceptance is not a common virtue. It takes people huge amount of effort to accept people for who they are because no person is made according to you or me, there is always a quality or trait in them that either we don’t like or the other way around. Most of us don’t feel accepted or welcome, it is either friends who want someone that is according to their ‘level’ or it is either parents who are imagining a perfect child. It is those teachers who want us all to act in the same way - the same discipline, the same sincerity, the same interests, the same “ideal student” qualities, the same passion and intelligence. Acceptance also means respecting individuality, which I am sure most of us don’t do. If a p...

DEPRESSION

DEPRESSION This year has been a time for us to know and deal with our feelings. The happy ones, the sad ones, the depressing ones. Which brings to our question. What is depression? Clinical depression is a mental health disorder characterized by persistently bad mood. It can be caused when people spiral  in their bad and negative thoughts. It begins with just simple sadness or a bad mood. It is a dark, very dark place inside our own mind. We usually keep it closed and in control, because it houses our worst fears and disabilities. But the moment you let it control you, it can be drastically dangerous. There can be several causes for depression ranging from poverty to loneliness. When you stops opening up,closing yourself to people, you enter the dark void of your thoughts, which can traumatize you for a long time in your life. So, how do we deal with depression or rather, prevent ourselves from it? Firstly and most importantly, and I cannot stress this enough. Reach out . Talk to p...

HAPPINESS

HAPPINESS What is happiness? When are we happy? The answers to these questions may differ frome person to person. For some it might be a night out with their friends. Some might want a day alone with their books, food and coffee. Some might even prefer an hour with their favourite music or even cooking their favourite food. But overall, happiness is something that causes us joy, makes our heart smile. But then why aren't we always happy, joyful, blissful? Why do we let things hurt us? Why do we let little things make us sad? Let them hurt us? One of the main reasons for this is caring. When someone, or even something, which we care about leaves us stranded, it causes us immense heartache, sometimes even betrayal. We hope against hope to get it back and prolong our own sadness. When someone leaves us, our first instinct is to take the blame for it,"They mustn't have liked me!", "I must havw been a bad friend.". These are the things which cause us sadness and ...

STRANGERS

STRANGERS We all were strangers before friends :) I'm pretty sure that all of you have heard the cliche story of meeting a stranger and locking eyes with them at a party and exchanging number. And before you know it, you're dating and then soon you're in love. we ll it doesn't happen in real- life, does it ?  According to Google, a stranger is a person who you have never met or aren't really familiar with. But do you actually know that strangers are so much better than the people you already know? All of us were strangers before we met or the first time we met.  W hen you meet a new person, you get a fresh start. You can be whoever you want to and you have the liberty to decide whether or not to befriend that person. It actually gives you choice to asses the person and know a little about them. If you don't like their overall 'vibe' then you can choose not to meet again or not befriend them. It gi ves you the alternative to set them free without any regre...

LONELINESS

LONLINESS Google terms and defines loneliness as being sad about not having friends or company. in some ways it is correct but there is so much more behind this short sentence. You could be in a room full of people and still be lonely, you could have tons of friends but still be lonely, you could have thousands of followers on social media and still be lonely. It isn't about being physically accompanied by someone but being mentally and emotionally safe with them. There could be many reasons to be lonely but this one is about what most of the teenagers go through. There isn't a single teenager who hasn't ever felt lonely, and it is perfectly normal and that is why it happens to most of us.  One of the reasons could insecurity. You could have tons of friends but wouldn't let anyone in your inner life. You may be all faux with them but wouldn't let them take a peep at what is going on in your heart and mind. And that may be because we don't trust them enough to not ...

UNAWARENESS

UNAWARENESS As unaware as a butterfly flapping its wings  Unknown that it can cause a hurricane across the globe  Like a star blinking without thinking about the consequence if it moves an inch towards the earth  Just like the breeze, unaware as sand particles oblivious of the storm the can cause if they work together  You were unaware of the effect you had on me  The surge of power we would represent if we were together  As unaware as you are of my undying love for you                            LOVE                              X                      THE FREAK
