Ashley and Lucas - THE MEETING

Ashley was sitting on a rock peacefully
In a blue dress with a bouquet of lilies

The god she loved, found his mistress
To be the one to help him in distress

So he gave Ash a bouquet of lilies
To bid her goodbye

She wished him luck and happiness
And they parted their ways with no bitterness

Now she sat there, content
Devouring each feature of nature to all its extent

Somehow everything was grey
The mist that hung over the beach astray

The ocean that advanced towards her feet
Grey with white foams, receded back in retreat

The grey clouds stretched till the horizon
As pleasant as comfortable silence

The grey weather was melancholic
And the pine scent was exotic

She was staring blankly towards the sea
She does that a lot lately

The waves crashing towards the shore
Made her want to go out there to explore

She saw someone walking down the beach
Though far away, he was a god from Greece

Walked towards her barefoot
As though was there just to allude

His hair black and wet hanging in his eyes
A cherry smile that forced you to oblige

It seemed that he was in of her awe too
His surroundings were grey and her aura screamed blue

And the mystery about her just drew him towards her
She became clear as he moved nearer

Her expression showed that she cared
But he could also read that she was scarred

Not physically, but by the depth of loneliness and misunderstandings
He felt like approaching

"Hello miss, may I know your name?"
"It's Ashley" she claimed

"May i know yours?" She asked
"Lucas" he replied fast

She slid and patted the seat empty
He looked at her with eyes filled with empathy

She didn't know this man
And their feet touched in the sand

All she could feel was safe
And he couldn't stop looking at her eyeshade

They both asked each other's sorrows
They could feel their lonely hollows

Lucas looked at her and said
"I was in the wrong hands"

She told him her grief
And he held her hand with a reassuring grip

She leaned into his shoulder for comfort
But instead found peace from the whole world

He felt safe holding her, even to fall
And he felt content, above all

They looked at each other with utmost bliss
And next thing they know, they connected their lips

Drowning in the passion and peace
They slowly broke their kiss

Stared into each other's eyes and soul
Absorbing each other whole

"Let's run away together, Ash
Away from all this crap" said Lucas

"Let's go to the sea to explore
There's nothing on land for us to see more"

And just like that they pulled a boat from a cove
Pushed it into the sea with a shove

Held hands together and hopped into something unknown
Running away from the world together, but alone

The way their fates flew together
Created bonds forever

And just like that Lucas and Ashley sailed into the sunset
The skies blue and pink, as if to celebrate

True love is indeed found one day
Believe your lover is on their way

On a horse, in a boat or in a car
But I believe that day isn't far

Till then make the most of your life
Keep finding your way through the strife

Who knows when you'll meet someone you only want more
And that experience won't be any like before

                                                 Love

                                                    X

                                              The freak

Racial Discrimination and Beauty standards Ft. Anushri Tewari

We all know about the term “racism”, we all have experienced it at some point in time, haven’t we? Sometimes intentionally or unintentionally, people discriminate against us on our origin, skin color, etc. At a point in time, I was obsessed with being fair & trust me it sucked. Everything was supposed to be about fairness; I only considered people beautiful if they were fair. Then slowly, I realized that skin color has nothing to do with being beautiful, beauty lies in different places for everyone. Nonetheless, we tend to promote "White supremacy". Why? because we have been living in a society where being fair is everything, without even realizing we promote "White supremacy”, we should stop and think about how our actions affect the people around us. Black or Asians or Indians or Russians, everyone has been discriminated at least once, for eg in India people discriminate their own people more than other country’s...for what? just because they’re dark-skinned or bel...

WHAT A BOOK CAN TEACH FT. VARANYA YADAV

Me Before You by Jojo Moyes M any a times, I feel like I’m losing control over things - over my work, my social life, my state of mind. This is when I sit back and look at my life from a different perspective. To help gain this perspective, I read books. Some people may prefer to watch movies or listen to songs. It was around such a phase that I happened to read me before you. To be honest, I didn’t know anything about the book, about the author, I didn’t even buy it. This book affected me in ways I didn’t think were possible. As I read the story of Louisa Clark and the turn of events of life I got to know that I am one of the fortunate ones. I have a decent lifestyle and enough money and awesome friends. When Lou met Will, a quadriplegic, her life changed a lot, she discovered a whole new part of herself, something that she thought had been missing.Thought the first few months were very hard and Lou thought that she wasn’t going to succeed, with time she got more comfortable around wi...
